RESP008 - Home Oxygen Therapy

This course explains what home oxygen therapy is, the types of home oxygen therapy available, and how the therapy can benefit the patient.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

1. Define home oxygen therapy.
2. Explain the indications for home oxygen therapy.
3. Explain how the need for home oxygen therapy is determined.
4. List the benefits of home oxygen therapy.
5. Describe which tests are used to determine a patient’s oxygen level.
6. Discuss what information is needed from a physician ordering home oxygen therapy.
7. Explain why a patient may require an oxygen concentrator.
8. Discuss liquid oxygen as a gas and in relation to home oxygen therapy.
9. Explain what a ratio of savings is when it comes to oxygen conserving devices.
